Last November it was revealed that a screening of Makoto Shinkai's latest film was cancelled due to a last minute licensing agreement. The name of the license holder was never revealed until now. Sentai Filmworks has come forward to announce that they were the ones who licensed Hoshi o Ou Kodmo (Children Who Chase Lost Voices). They plan to release the film both digitally as well as on home video (DVD and BluRay) sometime later this year. However, before that, the film will receive a theatrical run at the Nuart Theater in Los Angeles from June 26, 2012 to July 3, 2012.
Check out the official synopsis of the film after the jump along with our not-so-officially-subbed teaser. Personally, I don't think the synopsis does the film justice but et us know what you think in the comments below though.

Children Who Chase Lost Voices From Deep Below premiered in Japan on May 7th and made it's US debut at this year's Otakon in Baltimore, Maryland. In the film, "a girl named Asuna meets a young man called Shun who comes from the faraway land of Agartha. The two quickly become friends, but then -- just as quickly -- Shun disappears. And when Asuna hears the word 'Agartha' again in school as part of a fairytale, she knows adventure and mystery lie ahead."
