As stated earlier, the live action series of Mirai Nikki will follow the same premise as the original manga. Twelve young individuals come into the possession of Future Diaries in which every moment of their future is recorded and displayed in their diaries. The 12 holders of the future diary are forced to play a survival game, in which they are forced to kill each other until 1 remains. The winner will be granted the powers of a god.
But in this adaptation, the names of the main protagonists have been changed to reflect the differences between the manga and the live action series. There is no word as of yet whether the powers of the future diaries will be different from that of the manga or if the story line will drastically change.
