With school looming just around the corner for many of our readers, it's already time to start looking ahead to the Fall 2012 anime season. Possibly one of the most appealing looking series of Fall is the upcoming Psycho-Pass. The series - which is being animated by Production I.G. and features original character designs by Katekyo Hitman Reborn's Akira Amano - will air this coming October during the late-night Noitamina programming block.
Fuji TV released a promotional video earlier today for the series which reveals that Kana Hanazawa will be part of the cast. She will be playing the role of rookie enforcement officer Akane Tsunemori. Check out a brief synopsis and the PV after the jump.
The series takes place in the near future, when it is possible to instantaneously measure and quantify a person's state of mind and personality. This information is recorded and processed, and the term "Psycho-Pass" in the anime's title refers to a standard used to measure an individual's being. The story centers around the "enforcement officer" Shinya Kogami, played by Seki Tomokazu, who is tasked with managing crime in such a world.
