Yesterday, a page on Shueisha's Jump Square website announced that there would a Chapter 0 to Nobuhiro Watsuki's Ruroni Kenshi manga. The website indicates that the new chapter will be published in the Weekly Shonen Jump sometime in August. The timing comes as no surprise considering that Warner Brother's live action Ruroni Kenshin film opens in theaters on August 25.
Warner Brothers Japan began streaming a teaser trailer for the live action adaptation of the wildly popular Rurouni Kenshin manga. The film based on the manga by Nobuhiro Watsuki is being directed by Keishi Otomo and starts 22 year old Takeru Satoh as the Legendary Battosai. The film is expected to hit Japanese theaters August 25, 2011.
Check out the trailer after the jump. Be warned though live-action adaptation is live. So don't get your hopes too far up just yet.
As the title suggests, Rurouni Kenshin, a very popular and great old-school anime, is receiving a two-episode OVA with the first episode being shown at theaters in December. Titled 新京都編 / "Shin Kyoto Hen", or New Kyoto Chapter, it will be a remake of the Kyoto Arc with the battle against Shishio, although this time the story will be told from Misao's point of view.
For those who are unfamiliar with Rurouni Kenshin, the story takes place during the Meiji era and it revolves around Himura Kenshin, a rurouni (wanderer) carrying dark secrets in his past. He meets and teams up with various other people during his travels, each with their own issues, and faces the past that he once tried to escape from.
