NIS America announced yesterday that they have acquired the distribution rights to BRAVE10 in North America. Furthermore, in what shouldn't be a surprise by this point, BRAVE10 will be simulcasting on Crunchyroll starting January 10, 2012. The series is a modernized interpretation of Sanada Ten Braves, a historically popular novel about a noble group of ninjas. The series stars popular voice actors such as Daisuke Ono (Shizuo in Durarara!), Tetsuya Kakihara (Simon in Gurren Lagann) & Rina Satou (Mikoto Miskaka in To aru Kagaku no Railgun). Check out a trailer and brief synopsis after the jump.

It may be the dead of winter here in New York but somewhere deep inside, we're all "waiting for summer". Conveniently Crunchyroll has grabbed up our hopes in their latest round of simulcasting announcements. Crunchy will be simulcasting upcoming 12 episode winter anime, Ano Natsu de Matteru (Waiting in the Summer) starting January 11, 2012. Furthermore, Sentai Filmworks has licensed the series for digital distribution and DVD release later this year.

The series, which premieres January 9th in Japan, is being storyboarded by Onegai Teacher's Yousuke Kuroda, with original charachter design by fellow Onegai-staff Taraku Uon. If that isn't enough to get you expecting great things, Ano Natsu will be directed by Tatsuyuku Naga with charachter design by Masayoshi Tanaka (who previously worked together to bring us Toradora! and Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Boku-tachi wa Mada Shiranai). Check out an official description and trailer for the upcoming romantic comedy below.

Sentai Filmworks announced yesterday that the upcoming Winter 2011 series about bodacious babes buccaneering for intergalactic booty has been licensed for both DVD & BluRay. Alliterations aside, as if it were unexpected, Crunchyroll will be simulcasting the series starting January 7, 2012 at 12 PM EST. It seems like Sentai has a lot of confidence in the series to license it for BluRay before it even airs. Check out a brief description of the series and a trailer below and let us know what you think.

Merry Christmas!

It's that special time that comes around every 12 months. We here at leetNEET hope that everyone has gotten what they want under the tree. As for those of you who were hoping to have a girlfriend / boyfriend under that... well here's your consolation prize. Merry Christmas!

By quick show of hands, how many of you have watched The Jersey Shore? For those of you that said no, you probably at least have heard about how trashy the show can be. To be fair, it is about a bunch of people who spend all day tanning and all night drinking and partying with an occasional bar fight in between. So what on earth could this possibly have to do with anime, otakus or weeabos? The "masterminds" behind reality TV series, Jersey Shore, are working on a new project and just like Pauly D has had a negative impact on perceptions about Italian Americans, this project will probably have a negative impact on perceptions of those of us who like video games, anime and manga.

Doron Ofir Casting and 495 Productions, the team behind MTV's hit reality TV series The Jersey Shore put out a press release yesterday in which they announced that they are seeking 8 people for a new "experimental documentary series." (What exactly is an experimental documentary series? A cross  between LSD trip and hipster indie films is my guess.) The series will examine "the lives and relationships of people who love fantasy, fiction, cosplay, comics, gaming and science."

The second season of the polarizing omnibus harem anime, Amagami SS, is scheduled to air this winter. According to SeventhStyle, a magazine has revealed that the first episode of the new season, which is a direct sequel to the first season named Amagami SS+, will feature co-ed naked bathing fanservice. This combination of words that I'd never have expected to throw together, comes as a welcomed relief to those who are fond of oppai it seems. Check out the photo below for a sneak peak as well a description for those who are less familiar with the series.
